Not a curse! Hex is a world-class abstract strategy game created over 80 years ago

Published: Wed 23rd Apr

It's all about the hexagons on the traditional board for the game.

This 2-player classic began life as "Polygon", then "Con-Tac-Tix", and also "John's Game." It's an interesting story.

The basics of Hex are simple: On an array of hexagons, players attempt to claim a continuous connected chain of spaces from one side of the board to the other. Simple, but the depth of the game has been often compared to the Asian classic Wei-Chi, also called Go or Baduk.

I'll tell you the story behind the game, the basic rules, and a little bit of strategy as well. It is a game that deserves it's "classic" status.
