We interviewed Alexander Ostrowski

3dtotal interviewer Neddy had the pleasure of speaking with Alexander Ostrowski, key contributor to our current bestseller Designing Dragons, about how he has always been fascinated by biology and animals, so much so that he even thought about pursuing a career in marine biology and palaeontology!

But everything changed when he stumbled upon the art books for the Star Wars Prequels and Lord of the Rings. This eye-opening moment made him realise that he could turn his passion into a career, leading him to an incredible internship at SixMoreVodka Berlin, which he describes as more valuable than his entire time at university!

Alexander shares how snorkelling, diving, and watching nature documentaries spark his imagination and help him create his amazing creature and dragon designs. He also reveals some key tips for drawing dragons that every artist should know! He's a big fan of How to Train Your Dragon, and considers Smaug from The Hobbit to be his ultimate dragon design inspiration.
