My Favorite Games: High Player Counts

Published: Sun 16th Nov

In today's video I discuss my favorite games that play well at 6 or more players out of the box (and how their designs allow for that extended range). In addition to my 3 favorite lighter and 3 favorite heavier games in this category, our panelists weigh in on their favorites too.

2. Mysterium has dual options for larger groups – both a pass and play (offline) and an online version. Both are effective with the chat feature and a game can host up to 8 people!

1. Charterstone has a built-in online lobby that enables larger group play without leaving the app. I find Charterstone is incredibly fun at the full player count, and asynchronous play enables longer duration games, without taking up table space for days on end.

Kari (heavy gamer)

3. Obsession: this requires expansions to play at 6+, and it could possibly play long at high player counts... But to be a game that CAN accommodate high player numbers while being a beautiful and heavy game- it will always be worth it to me

2. Blood on the Clocktower: it works with a high player count while also giving the space to play a very strategic and brain burning game

1. Raising Robots: actions are carried out by all players simultaneously- making for nice heavy decisions without too much waiting around

Skiler (family gamer)

3. Bad Company- This game has you planning heists and escaping the police as you roll dice and gain resources. We love the clever dice mechanism and the suspense it creates as you race to escape!

2. Colt Express- In this game players use their limited cards to simulate robbing a train. As fans of slapstick-type comedy, this one has us laughing away as we steal each other's loot.

1. It's in the Bag Jr. - This game has three rounds with describing words and acting them out! This is our go-to game when we have a big group of various ages!
