Final Girl: Killer from Tomorrow vs. Madness in the Dark | Episode 105

Published: Sun 30th Nov

Game of the Week (3:17)
Final Girl: Madness in the Dark is back on the table. I showed it to a non-tabletop buddy and he got so excited, he got his own base game and the Killer from Tomorrow movie. Hear what happens as one dude in Wyoming struggles against a robot killer for the very first time and another dude in Colorado reacquaints himself with the joys of finding a hook-handled bone hammer in a utility closet just in time.

Drink of the Week (45:16)
I just spent Thanksgiving editing audio, putting up signs to sell my house, and trying to nurse myself back from a hideous and painful hematoma. Drinking was out of the question.

Track of the Week (48:31)
I'm going to show you one of the most delightful techno-hip hop crossovers of the early 2000s, which teamed up the quicksilver UK duo Mint Royale with Posdnous of De La Soul.

Last week I mailed a Breakup Gaming Society swag envelope to a bro who did a Very Bro Thing for Your Humble Host. This envelope contained a custom cocktail booklet, a Defiant Frog sticker made by my friends at Inkling Print Co. and Marvel Secret Wars #11, which might be worth a few bucks if it grades out. I randomly pull three comics from my vintage ‘80s box for people who support the show in some way and sometimes a gem pops up.

I like connecting with people through the mail; a hand-printed envelope in the mailbox, to me, is an underrated way to ping people, especially when I think about wider economies of communication. AI, in devaluing human language and thought, has massively spiked the value of a verifiable and authentic 1:1 touch.

This is a long way of saying yes, to me, actual people sending each other cool stuff in the mail is the new Bitcoin. At least in my economy. If you agree, check my Donate page and see how you can get an envelope of your own: https://www.breakupgamingsociety.com/donate
